County Clerk's Office

County Clerk’s Recording Office

Will be closed to the public effective Wednesday, March 18. Customers will have several options to process transactions: using our E-recording partners to electronically record land transactions; e-filing court papers through NYSCEF, mailing documents to the office, or dropping off their documents to the County Office Building with the security guards at the front door. Until further notice, we are no longer processing passports or passport photos or offering notary services.

  • DBA’s: Download the form from our website and mail your Business Certificates to my office.  Include a copy of your driver’s license, a check for $35 made payable to Cayuga County Clerk, and we will mail you two certified copies.
  • Passports: Until further notice, we are not processing any face-to-face transactions, therefore we are not processing passports.  If you need a passport, please check with your local post office.
  • At this time we cannot provide Notary Public services.

Mailing address: Cayuga County Clerk, 160 Genesee Street, Auburn, NY 13021. If you are mailing a transaction to the office, please include your name, address and phone number.
