[ARCHIVED] County partnership helps residents save on electricity

Solar Banner

Attention Cayuga County New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) customers: The Cayuga County Community Solar Project is officially under construction at the Cayuga County Complex!   All NYSEG electricity customers, including homeowners, renters, and businesses, who live or operate in Cayuga County are now eligible to sign up and receive a 10% discount on their monthly electricity costs.

The County has partnered with Solar Farms New York, a leading developer of community solar projects, to help you save. County residents and businesses interested in the program can sign up by visiting or call 315-512-5322. Please use PROMO code CAY to get a $50 Visa gift card as a thank you for supporting green energy.

There is no charge to sign up for this program and you can cancel any time without penalty. Subscriptions for this offer are limited to the first 400 households to sign up.

Consistent with the County’s clean energy goals, the Cayuga County Community Solar Project will produce clean, carbon-free solar electricity. The solar project will produce over 5,000,000 kilowatt hours of electricity each year, offsetting the electricity usage of approximately 400 households.

Please note, Cayuga County's work with Solar Farms New York does not represent an exclusive endorsement by the County.  County residents have other options for solar energy and the County encourages solar developers to offer similar incentives to our residents.
