[ARCHIVED] Reporting a Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB)

Blue Green Algea on the water shore

Reporting a Bloom

The NYHABS reporting system allows both the public and trained algal bloom samplers to send reports of HABs to DEC electronically via a simple, user- and mobile phone-friendly form. These reports, once evaluated by DEC and DOH, are posted to the NYHABS page.

If you think that a bloom may be harmful, report it through the NY State's online HABs map and reporting system

The online HABs map  will show you the sites where blooms have been reported in the State of New York

Symptoms or health concerns related to HABs should be reported to the Cayuga County Health Department at 315-253-1560.
