Oral Health
It is important to note that Cayuga County lacks fluoridated water. Public water is supplied by the City of Auburn to its residents and outlying towns which purchase water from the City. According to the City of Auburn Water Quality Report, public water is provided to over 45,000 Cayuga County residents. Cayuga County has a population of around 80,000 residents.
Cayuga County residents not supplied water by the City of Auburn rely on wells for their water.
For 2010 to 2012, the percentage of Cayuga County third graders with evidence of untreated decay is 40.4. This exceeds the New York State (NYS) percentage of 24.0 and the NYS 2017 Objective at 21.6.
Brush to Crush Cavities
One program available in Cayuga County is the Brush to Crush Cavities Program. This Program provides screenings to students in K-6, education to all students in grades kindergarten through 6, daily brushing at school and oral health supplies for use in school and at home.

For the 2013 - 2014 school year, the Brush to Crush Cavities Program expanded to a second school, Casey Park Elementary. Both schools are located in the City of Auburn. The final report is listed below.
