The Cayuga County Jail is a maximum security 212-bed facility. It is mandated to be in compliance with the many complex and detailed minimum standards set forth by the New York State Commission of Correction.
The Sheriff’s Marine Patrol operates 5 boats on the many lakes and waterways of Cayuga County. We patrol Cayuga Lake, Owasco Lake, Skaneateles Lake, the Canal System and Cross Lake as well as Lake Ontario. We also occasionally patrol several smaller lakes within the County.
The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is responsible for criminal investigations conducted by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office and for providing investigative support to the Patrol Division.
The Civil Division's purpose and function is to serve and execute the various legal processes issued not only by and for the several non-criminal courts of the state and its subdivisions, but also for the legal community and the general public.
