Child Find Program

Child Find is a combined effort between you, your doctor, and our staff that monitors the developmental progress of your child in the areas of Physical, Cognitive, Communication, Social/Emotional, and Self-Help skill development.

Newborn Hearing Referrals are made by local hospitals when a child has failed their newborn hearing screening. The Child Find Program can assist families with help obtaining an audiological evaluation to determine whether a hearing loss exists.

Elevated Lead Levels – Young children are at the greatest risk for exposure to Lead Poisoning. Every child should be tested at ages 1 and 2 years old for lead by their pediatrician. The smallest amount of lead can be detrimental to a child’s development. Child Find will help to monitor those children at risk due to lead exposure.

If your child is at risk for delay in development, you will receive a periodic developmental questionnaire. Our staff will give you information on growth and development and talk with your child’s doctor to confirm regular care and check-ups. In some instances, a home visit can be arranged.

If a screening determines a developmental delay, Child Find staff will assist you in finding the services you and your child will need through a referral to Early Intervention.
