Make an Online Payment

The County Treasurer accepts Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover cards.  Please note, however, that if you choose to use a credit card or a debit card, a service fee of 2.25%, minimum $1.00, will be added to each transaction by the credit card processor, AllPaid.  In addition to credit and debit card payments, payment may be made via electronic check online.  A service fee of $2.50 will be added by AllPaid for eCheck payments.  The service fee will appear separate from the transaction.

The Cayuga County Treasurer will only accept payments for the following property taxes:

  • Current Year Town & County 2nd Installments (only if 1st Installment paid to Town by February 10th due date)
  • Delinquent Taxes or Tax Liens
    • Current Year Town & County Taxes are turned over to the County Treasurer as delinquent on April 1st
    • Auburn Enlarged City School District Taxes, for parcels located outside the City of Auburn, are turned over to the County Treasurer as delinquent in mid-December
    • Oswego City School District Taxes, for parcels located in Cayuga County, are turned over to the County Treasurer as delinquent in mid-March
    • If paying more than one Lien year, you must pay the newest tax first and work your way backward
  • Installment Agreement Contract payments - formal agreement to pay delinquent taxes over a 24-month period

Our tax collection programs are not integrated with online payments.  Therefore, you must know the exact amount due, as the County Treasurer is not authorized to accept partial payments.  Contact our office at 315-253-1211 for the exact amount due.  Inaccurate payment amounts may be rejected by the County Treasurer.  

Our office will reject payments we are not authorized to collect. The Cayuga County Treasurer's Office does NOT collect any taxes on parcels located in the City of Auburn.  The County Treasurer is NOT authorized to collect Town & County 1st Installments, nor are we authorized to collect Current Year Town & County Taxes while they are being collected by the Town Tax Collectors from January 1 to March 31.  Please contact the appropriate Tax Collector for payment options.  

Credit card transactions can be rejected immediately by our office.  eCheck transactions must clear before our office can reject the transaction.  eChecks generally take 5 business days to clear. The credit card processor, AllPaid, will refund rejected transaction amounts within 3 to 5 business days, however the service charge may not be refunded.
