On April 25th, 2017, at 3:30 PM, the Honorable Mayor James J. Basile of the Village of Fair Haven NY has declared a State of Emergency for the Village of Fair Haven, Bay Front Area. The State of Emergency is in response to the rising waters in Lake Ontario and the Little Sodus Bay.
The local State of Emergency will remain in effect until rescinded by subsequent order. In addition, the Honorable Mayor has issued an Emergency Order subsequent to the Declaration ordering a
NO WAKE / 5 MPH SPEED LIMIT
on all of Little Sodus Bay in order to protect the residences and shore lines from increasing impacts of boating wake with relation to the high lake / bay levels.
The Emergency Order will remain in effect until such a time as the Lake / Bay has crested, and the impacts from elevated waters and wakes has been deemed minimized.
