SUBJECT: Public Hearing - Dillıs Run Vineyard
Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Ron Buxenbaum. The minutes were read from the regular Planning Board Meeting of April 14, 2004. Paul moved to accept the minutes as read, Steve 2nd, passed 5-0.
Ron opened the Public Hearing at 7:36 p.m. Bill Heary presented the enlarged site plan of the garage area where the proposed winery operation will take place. Also, the short Environmental Assessment Form was completed to everyoneıs satisfaction.
Chairman Buxenbaum stated that the Winery Proposal had been turned into the County Planning Board for their approval. Ron should know on May 21st after the County Planning Board meets on the 20th of May as to the outcome of the winery proposal.
The Public Hearing was closed at 8:39 p.m.
Barbara King asked the Town Planning Board if it was possible to establish a Modified Agriculture Zone to help protect the environment from the contamination from animal waste products?
Much discussion followed with no definitive answers to solve the problems. A thorough review of the New York State Agriculture Law needs to be done. It seems Agriculture practices and new technology have far outpaced the present Ag Law. Our fragile environment needs to be protected by everyone including the farming community.
Ken moved to adjourn at 10:07 p.m. Steve 2nd, passed 4-0.
The next regular Planning Board Meeting will take place on Wednesday June 9th at 7:30 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Kenneth G. Furness
