End of Year Meeting of the Ledyard Town Board

The meeting was called to order at 9:30 pm. Councilman Jim Frisch arrived at 11:00 am.

PLEDGE-REMEMBER TROOPS

APPROVE MINUTES: On motion by John Binns, seconded by Paul Hilliard, the Minutes for December 13, 2010 were approved as submitted.
VOTE: 4 Ayes, 0 Nays

OLD/NEW BUSINESS: Supervisor Mark Jordan informed the Town Board that an energy service representative from NYSEG discussed an Energy Efficiency Program to replace all the fluorescent bulbs at the Town Buildings with new energy saving bulbs. NYSEG will contribute 70% of the lighting upgrade cost. The total contribution by the Town of Ledyard will be $1,201.84, of the total $4,006.05. A breakdown of costs and usage indicate a savings of $843.00 per year. After discussion the Town Board approved a resolution to enter into agreement with NYSEG to replace the bulbs.

The Town Board discussed the adjacent property to the west of the Town Hall that is currently for sale. Mark Jordan suggested it might be in the interest of the Town of Ledyard to consider purchasing the gully that is behind the Town Hall. Mark will follow up with questions addressed to the realty office involved.

Bookkeeper Dudley Hand suggested the End of Year Meeting be dropped in the future. He said it is not essential, and causes accounting issues for him that could be avoided with just one meeting earlier in December instead of two meetings.

Highway Superintendent Jim Bailey discussed the need for repair on the Transfer Site building that is rotting from the bottom up. He would like have it resided.
Transfer Site Attendant Bill Nivison will be out for medical reasons and a substitute Transfer Site Attendant will be needed for the next two weeks.

PAY BILLS: On motion by Bill Heary, seconded by John Binns, the bills on abstract #013, #274-295, General Fund A=$1,473.22; B=$2,843.78; DA=$0; DB=$7,636.25 were approved for payment.

ADJOURN: On motion by John Binns, seconded by Bill Heary, the meeting was adjourned at 11:20 am.
