| Owasco Chapter of Genesee Council District VII, NSDAR sponsored
a monument rededication and marker placement for Revolutionary War Patriot
Edward Robinson. The ceremony was on Saturday, October 1st, 2005 at
1:00 p.m. at the Sherwood/Phelps Cemetery in Cayuga County on State Route
34B in Sherwood NY. A Reception was held immediately following the ceremony
at the Scipioville Presbyterian Church, also on Route 34B.
Edward Robinson was a Drummer and then a Private in the 7th Massachusetts. He settled in Cayuga County about 1800 with his wife Eunice Rix. Both are buried in the Sherwood/Phelps Cemetery. Robinson family descendants attended from Illinois, Michigan and Massachusetts. A color guard, twenty-one gun salute and the playing of "Taps" was provided by the American Legion Post 1107 of Union Springs, NY.
