The objective of the Owasco Lake Watershed Inspection Program is to help protect and enhance Owasco Lake as a potable water source. Owasco Lake is a valuable resource for the City of Auburn and Cayuga County. Owasco Lake is a drinking water supply for approximately 45,000 residents in Cayuga County therefore the protection of the water supply is important for both health and economic reasons.

The Owasco Lake Watershed Inspector reports monthly at the Cayuga County Water Quality Management Agency meeting. This committee usually meets the first Thursday of the month at 10 AM at the Natural Resource Center at 7413 County House Road, Auburn. (Click here for meeting information).
