Cayuga County and the City of Auburn are joining forces to offer Cayuga County and City of Auburn residents an America Recycles Day home electronics recycling event.

Date, Time, Place:

  • Saturday, November 15, 2014

  • Running from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

  • Located at the City of Auburn Landfill at 311 North Division Street, Auburn.

We are Accepting:

  • Televisions for FREE!

  • Computer monitors for FREE!

  • All other electronics for FREE!

  • Fluorescent Bulbs for FREE!

  • CFLs for FREE!

  • Household Batteries (NiCds, button cells, lithiums, and lead acid) for FREE!. Alkaline batteries can go in the trash.

  • Propane tanks for FREE!

  • Small Freon appliances (40 pound weight limit) for FREE!
Acceptable Household Electronics Include:

  • Computers and Monitors

  • Computer Accessories

  • Printers

  • Circuit Boards

  • Terminals

  • TV's 

  • Microwaves

  • Audio/Visual Equipment

  • Fax Machines

  • Typewriters

  • Telecom Equipment

  • Cell Phones

  • Cables and Wiring

  • Electronic Scrap

  • Video Game systems (for example Nintendo or Sega systems)

  • Propane tanks

  • Small Freon appliances (40 pound weight limit)

Also NOT Accepted
  • Large kitchen appliances

  • Large freon appliances: We do not take them here to avoid back injuries. Our freon removal and recycling contractor, Finger Lakes Recycling (FLR) Facility, is located at 2810 Trombley Road in Weedsport.

Funding is provided by the Cayuga County Legislature and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (bulbs) with a special grant from NUCOR Steel Auburn.
