Needles, syringes, lancets, and other sharp health care products should never be recycled. They may be contaminated and pose a danger to recycling workers. They can also cause costly delays and equipment malfunctions during the recycling process. All hospitals and skilled nursing facilities are required by law to accept Properly Packaged and Labeled sharps at no Charge.
How to properly dispose of Sharps:
Place sharps in a puncture-proof container and cover with a tight-fitting lid
Label the container with your name, address, and phone number
Call one of the drop-off locations listed to arrange for someone to meet you
