With children back in school and more activities and gatherings take place indoors, residents are encouraged to take preventive measures to reduce the spread of respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19.

Everyone six months and older should get vaccinated and get their booster dose when eligible. An updated COVID-19 vaccine that is designed to guard against variants is expected sometime this fall. If you are in need of a COVID-19 vaccine, check with your health care provider. If you do not have a healthcare provider, many local pharmacies are offering the vaccines. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, stay home from work, school, or gatherings, get tested. If you test positive with an at-home test kit, be sure to notify your healthcare provider. To find a no-cost COVID test click here

Regardless of vaccination status, if you test positive for COVID-19, stay home and isolate for at least five days. Isolation guidance can be found here. The New York State Affirmation of Isolation form can found here.

If symptoms are improving isolation can end after day 5; however, a mask should be worn on days 6-10 when indoors and in public.  If symptoms are not improving continue to isolation and contact your healthcare provider.

If you test positive and are an older adult or more at risk for getting very sick from COVID-19, contact your healthcare provider right away. Treatments are now available and must be started early to work. If you do not have a healthcare provider, click here for treatment locations.
