BE TRAVEL READY- REAL ID ACT START ON MAY 7, 2025
The REAL ID Act will go into effect on May 7, 2025. This means that when you fly within the United States (also called “Domestic travel”), you will need to have a REAL ID compliant document.
Several Options are available and described in the link below
NEW DOMESTIC TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS STARTING ON MAY 7, 2025
Recording and Filing Documents:
- Mail your documents to the office address: 160 Genesee St Auburn NY 13021
- Drop off your documents in our office at the County Office Building. You can pick up your copies of processed paperwork usually the next day or include a postage paid envelope.
- E-File: Electronically file court papers through NYSCEF e-filing system
Effective Feb. 16, 2021 Cayuga County Supreme Court Cases will be required to be commenced on the New York State Courts E-filing System, NYSCEF, for all case types but the exempt types below when filed by an attorney for a represented party. Unrepresented parties may continue to file paper cases or elect to use the e-filing system.
Case Types Exempt from E-Filing (paper or electronic filings are acceptable)
- CPLR Article 70 proceedings
- CPLR Article 78 proceedings
- Election Law proceedings
- Matrimonial matters
- Mental Hygiene Law matters
- Appeal - New Index Number
- Substitute Jail Order
- E-Record: Land documents can be submitted through one of our e-recording partners

As County Clerk I serve as the Clerk of the Supreme and County Court. The County Clerk is the Clerk of both the Civil Courts Division and Criminal Courts Division. The main function of the County Clerk’s Office is that of record keeper for the County. The County Clerk’s Office records, files and maintains land, court, and lien records filed in our office and you can check online availability.
As the County Clerk I have oversight of four departments:
